Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has finally restored social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, which were suspended for the last several days following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan’s arrest last week.
Social media platforms, including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube were blocked in Pakistan following arrest of Former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, which led to countrywide protests and riots.
Following the arrest, the Federal Government ordered suspension of mobile internet services, which were restored on Friday. However, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Friday said that it was yet to receive an order for restoration of social media.
Today (Monday), all social media websites and mobile applications have started to recover and users are able to access Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube on their desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
